I am not making any promises (to myself or the...maybe three... people that still check in here from time to time) but the Haddock household has recently acquired a new device that might make blogging more frequently possible again. We have not had a decent computer since Ruby, my college lap top and keeper of all Liam's baby memories, was stolen from our house prior to moving to Nashville. We made due with what we had and, when our last ancient computer finally kicked the bucket, a friend generously loaned us a spare lap top. The borrowed lap top and smart phones were fine for social media and email, but it was difficult to really write on those things and, since my free time is already limited, I did not really feel like wasting it wrestling with technology, so I mostly stopped.
This is, at least, what I am telling myself. I guess time will tell. The boys are thrilled with our fancy new gadget. PBS Kids has already found its way onto the frequent website page (because PBS is awesome *cough*duh*cough). I have a feeling "new computer" is going to be word of the day around here for quite some time. A printer is also sitting in a box, waiting to be set up, and I think Ryan will be pleased to no longer have to answer my frantic texts about why he did not manage to print off the 36 copies of Little House of the Prairie worksheets before my co-op class any longer. Ah, convenience- how I have missed thee! I am not really a techy person. I am the sort of person that makes up stupid adjectives like techy...but I am not the sort of person to be techy. I still write appointments down on a cluttered wall calendar and have never owned a Kindle. But I did grow up in the 90's so the internet has been a part of my life for pretty much as long as I can remember. It doesn't really feel modern or techy. (My username in the Christian middle school chatrooms I frequented was tigerlily86, in case you were wondering...and you can probably still find my Xanga if you dig deeply enough. Although my Myspace blog is lost for all eternity. Thanks, Justin Timberlake.) So, blogging may be becoming "retro" compared to the more condensed and convenient ways of internet documentation, but I will probably stick with it anyway. I am just hipster like that. And it is incredibly nice to have this lovely new computer to write on now. I feel like a blogging princess... or, I would, but someone is calling me to wipe their butt at the moment so...

WHO AM I?
I am Michelle: a wannabe hippie in love with a bonafide geek. We also spawned. I spend my days with our four wild, beautiful boy children and I overshare about our life online because I am a Millennial and that is what we do.
